As part of “Make a Will Month,” The University of Toledo Foundation and Alumni Association are hosting an educational program, “Building Your Legacy through Estate Planning.”

The free, public event begins at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 17, in the Center of Alumni and Donor Engagement, 4510 Dorr St. There will be a selection of light appetizers, beer and wine for attendees.

The presentation will cover the basics of wills, why everyone should have a will and the impact that creating a will can have on your family’s peace of mind. UToledo alumni Mark Boss, a member of Eastman and Smith, and Sarah Corney, a partner at RCO Law, will lead the conversation.

“We’ve had an outstanding number of RSVPs so far,” said Nick Kulik, senior director of planned giving at the Foundation. “I want UToledo alumni, staff and the surrounding community to view the Foundation as a resource for topics like this. We are here to help.”

“Creating or updating your estate plans can seem daunting,” Kulik added. “Our program breaks the important steps down into bite-sized pieces to make the process easier.”
